The Jesus Website

Historical evidence for Jesus of Nazareth

This website aims to be a comprehensive survey of the historical evidence for Jesus the Messiah. It presents about 300 historical data points related to Jesus from the four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John). These organised by a visual sequence diagram, a timeline, and then plotted onto maps of first century Galilee, Judea, Jerusalem and the wider Roman world.

The plan is to slowly build out the context section with essays about various historical aspects to provide background and context for the core record of historical information.

History is about reconstructing a narrative of the past from available evidence. The debate and discussion section includes a historiography of how the historical Jesus has been studied, this section also provides responses to popular and academic challenges to the historical Jesus. Additionally lists of all of Jesus’ parables, key Old Testament prophecies, Jesus’ sermons and sayings, etc are in the resources section. And you can find out more about the project in the about section.
